Vision
“True education seeks, then, to make men and women not only good mathematicians, proficient linguists, profound scientists, or brilliant literary lights, but also honest men, combined with virtue, temperance, and brotherly love-men and women who prize truth, justice, wisdom, benevolence, and self-control as the choicest acquisitions of a successful life.”
— David O. McKay
Mission
Pine Grove Academy is a private, faith-based K-12 homeschool-support organization founded on the basic idea that education is more than a list of facts or scores on a test. True education is about whom we become, not just what we know. We believe that education is meant to enlighten the best in us and prepare us to expand our talents and capacity to do good and to be good in an ever-changing world. Through the lens of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, PGA students experience a rich culture of strong academics in a wholesome, spirit-filled environment. Christian character and the importance of God, family, and country are the focus. Principles of liberty are taught to help students learn to self-govern and safeguard the blessings of liberty obtained by our forebearers. We aim to be a powerful resource to parents who take the responsibility to bring up their children in light and truth seriously. Our children live in a confusing, chaotic world; we teach that there is peace in Christ and power in his teachings. We believe learning can be joyful. We know that joy is found in hard work, diligence, responsibility, accountability, and goal-setting. Purpose and fulfillment come as we live these principles. We discover our talents and gifts and learn to use these to bless the lives of others. At Pine Grove, we aim to teach leadership by learning true discipleship. By following the invitation of the Savior to "come follow me" we can share that light with others. By working diligently towards our own individual potential, we will be ready to serve in whatever capacity we may be called.
